Parish Picnic 2012

On Sunday, August 19, 2012, we enjoyed some time together in fellowship as a parish family during our 8th annual “Mini-Picnic”. Thanks to all who cleaned the hall, prepared the grounds, and manned the grill. There was an abundance of great food and fun, especially centering around the intense (and, sometimes, not so intense!) game of volleyball, with participants spanning the range of ages.

Below is an article written by Fr. John about the feast, from the most recent edition of The Cupola. Continue reading Holy Transfiguration 2012

Baptism of Alexander H.

On Sunday, August 5, 2012, we joyfully celebrated the Baptism and Chrismation of one of the newest members of our parish family, Alexander. He is the new son of Chris & Elvira Holfester. We were happy to meet their relatives and friends from out of town, and wish them much joy and happiness in their new life with Alexander. May God grant them many years!

After preliminary discussions with our iconographer, Heather MacKean, in the latter part of 2009 regarding the subject and size of the icon, it was formally commissioned in late January, 2010.
